Scrap Yard Singapore: FAQs
How much do you get scrapping your vehicles in Singapore?
The scrap value of your car or lorry depends on COE Rebate and PARF Rebate. COE Rebates are for all vehicles with remaining COE values. For PARF rebates, your vehicles should not be more than 10 years old.
The newer your vehicle is when you deregister, the higher the rebate of COE and PARF you will get. You have 12 months from the date of deregistration to redeem your COE Rebates and PARF Rebates before they expire.

What happens after you scrap your vehicle in Singapore?
Scrap your vehicle by yourself:
It is a tedious and troublesome process as you personally have to drive your vehicle to an LTA-appointed scrap yard. It will take about 4 weeks for LTA to release the rebates to your bank. To do it yourself, you can find out more information from LTA.
Scrap your vehicle with scrap yard or exporter in Singapore:
You get additional value other than the COE and PARF rebates. It is also hassle-free as you do not have to deal with the paperwork. Also, it is efficient as you will get your money instantly once you hand over your vehicle.
What is scrap value in Singapore?
The scrap value of your vehicle can vary depending on when you intend to deregister or scrap it. If you plan on scrapping your vehicle before the COE expires, this is computed using the formula below:
Scrap value = COE rebate + PARF rebate
The total scrap value is computed by taking into account the total amount of your accumulated COE and PARF rebate.
If you intend on driving your vehicle until the end of the COE term, this amount of PARF is the amount that you can get back as your scrap value.
You can check the scrap value of your vehicle by entering your intended deregistration date and details of your scrap vehicle here:
What is the difference between dealer's scrap yard and LTA appointed scrap yard?
You can get back your COE and PARF rebate by scrapping at an LTA-approved scrapyard in a couple of weeks. Doing so at a dealer’s scrap yard will allow you to get back your vehicle’s body value and the rebates immediately. Different scrapyards will quote at different rates for your vehicle’s body value.
